Tsunami Relief Effort

It was in the early hours of Boxing Day, 2004 which decided the destiny of more than a quarter million lives in South-East Asia. The Matara District of Sri Lanka was one of the worst areas affected by the tsunami. (more)

Masters of the Message

Politics is about staying on message. Political parties use talking points to frame issues, such as what is at stake in an election. In a well-disciplined campaign a politician’s vocabulary shrinks almost exclusively to a Party-approved shortlist of words, which manage to work their way into everything they say. (more)

Sumo meet in Wakayama

www.sponichi.co.jp/others/kiji/2004/07/05/03.html On May 22nd there will be an amateur sumo meet across from the Wakayama Prefectural Assembly in Wakayama City at 10 a.m. The event is being sponsored by professional sumo wrestlers training here in Wakayama at their outdoor arena so it should be a good opportunity to see what sumo is like first hand. The Free Trade Agreement between Japan and Mexico

Let’s See the World

World Youth Choir in Wakayama

2004 Wakaura Jazz Marathon
