Published by Keyshuppan, this new Izakaya Navi softbound handy guide to Wakayama Prefecture’s Japanese-style pubs/restaurants, called Izakayas, is just what everybody needs to help them discover all the great food available in our beloved Prefecture. While the majority of Izakayas in this guide are in the Wakayama City area, other areas are featured and can quickly be found because each area is color-coded at the top of the page. The book includes many pictures of each Izakaya, the foods they serve, small maps for each location, hours of business, times and prices for some of their dishes.
There is a small section on Sake at the beginning as well as a full index of all featured Izakayas in the book at the end. Even though this book is not in English, it is easy enough to Navigate through for those with little to limited Japanese ability because of its user-friendly layout. The same publisher has already produced a guide called Lunch Navi and is scheduled to release two others called Fashion and Beauty Navi and Onsen Navi later this Autumn. Each are sold for 980 yen and are available at bookstores and wherever magazines are sold.
