WIN Party

November 2000

Another WIN party - another rip-roaring night of fun, dancing and laughter. On Saturday 14th October, about 100 Japanese and lucky- to- live- in- Wakayama foreigners joined in celebrating WIN's 13th birthday.

Festivities took place in Old Time in Arochi and as usual we were made to feel very welcome. Delicious food was prepared by Suntopia and great dancing music was provided by ASKS and REDEMPTIONS who ensured everyone could hit the floor and dance away any worries or frustrations. Steve gave us all a much needed rest between bouts of dancing with his guitar and mellow rendering of both well known and original songs.

Everyone ate, danced, sung and chatted in a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Greetings were exchanged in several languages by old friends who passed on snippets of news from the past year, and newcomers were warmly welcomed.

Congratulations to winners of door prizes, and especially to Adrianna, Daniel, Tracey, Milando and Satoru for being our top dancers. Thanks to everyone who put in hard work to make the night another success.

One man said to me it was the best night out he'd had in Wakayama, and I think everyone would agree that a great night was had by all.

To attend a WIN party without becoming genki I think would be impossible, so thanks to every genki party- goer who helped make this 13th anniversary bash another WINner!
